(New Castle, DE 19720) Last Sunday (Jan 5), at approximately 9:00 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to a residence on Landers Lane, in the community of Swanwyck, for an alarm activation. When the officers arrived, they noticed a broken rear window. After contacting the homeowner, the officers entered the residence. K9 Officer Guci was then able to apprehend 48-year-old Thomas Love, who was hiding on the second floor.
Love was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. Their investigation revealed that Love was responsible for an additional burglary to a residence that occurred earlier this year.
Love was charged with two counts of felony Burglary 2nd, two counts of felony Possession of Burglar Tools, five counts of misdemeanor Terroristic Threatening, two counts of misdemeanor Theft, two counts of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief, one count of misdemeanor Resisting Arrest, one count of misdemeanor Harassment, and one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $35,400 cash bail.
