(Wilmington, DE 19805) Earlier today (July 19) at approximately 1:35 P.M. Officers from New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Court Drive, in the community of Greenview at Chestnut Run, for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers identified the area of Court Dr. and Sussex Rd as the crime scene. Preliminary findings revealed that this incident is not related to the most recent incident in this community.

Police were notified that a 33-year-old adult male suffering gunshot wounds had been transported to a local hospital by private vehicle. As of the time of this release, the victim has been listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
