(Wilmington, DE 19801) Earlier today (Sept 30), patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Morehouse Drive, in the community of Dunleith, for a shooting that had just occurred.

When the officers arrived, they discovered, a 48-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.  The officers administered first-aid until New Castle County Paramedics arrived.  The victim was then transported to a local area hospital. 

At the hospital, the victim was taken into surgery; where he is listed as being in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
