VEHICLE STOP LEADS TO GUN AND DRUG ARREST

(Newark, DE 19702) Last Tuesday (Apr 6), at 10:00 p.m. patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police conducted a traffic stop on Bear-Christiana Rd and East Songsmith Dr, Newark De 19702.  The stopped vehicle, a 1998 Honda Civic was driven by 25-year-old, Jacob Stoner. 

After a preliminary investigation was conducted the officers searched the vehicle and located a semi-automatic handgun, along with drug paraphernalia. 

Stoner was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters where he was charged with one count felony Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, one count of felony Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Firearm), one count of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Knife), one count misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (Edibles)  (greater than personal use), one count misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance w/o Script, one count Possession of Marijuana civil violation, and the following traffic offenses, Failure to Have Insurance, Failure to Have Rear Lamps (tail light out), and Failure to Change Address with DMV.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $8203 unsecured bail.
