POLICE ARREST BURGLAR STEALING CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

(Bear, DE 19701) Last Friday morning (Dec 10), at approximately 12:05 a.m., patrol officers from the  New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Javelin Way, in the community of Hunter’s Run for the report of a burglary in progress with gunshots being fired.

When the officers arrived, they learned from dispatch that while the victim was on the phone with 911 the suspect fired a round at them.   The suspect was then seen leaving the area in a dark-colored sedan.   As the officers entered the area of the scene, they located and stopped a dark-colored Infinity sedan attempting to drive out of the community .   The driver of that vehicle, 22-year-old Noah Youngs was taken into custody without incident. 

The officers then were able to interview multiple victims. They learned that one of the victims was sleeping inside his residence when he was awakened by his son who stated that someone was breaking into their shed.  This victim stated he went outside and saw a dark figure wearing a mask and went closer to get a better description of the suspect.  All of the victims reported that the suspect fired one shot from a handgun in their direction and got into the Infinity.

The officers at the scene of the car stop, then located a handgun inside of the Infinity along with multiple gift-wrapped Christmas presents that were removed from the victim’s shed.

Youngs was transported to police headquarters and arraigned on charges from this burglary and an additional burglary that occurred earlier in the same community.

He was charged with one count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count felony Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Previous Conviction), three counts of Felony Reckless Endangering 1st, one count of felony Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of felony Burglary 3rd, two counts of felony  Possession of Burglar Tools, two counts of misdemeanor Theft and one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief. 

Youngs was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held in lieu of $69,100 cash bail.
