(Claymont, DE 19703) Yesterday, Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the West Brandywine Avenue area for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. 

Upon arrival, they found a 14-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. The officers rendered medical aid, and he was transported to a local area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

The investigation is still in its early stages and very active.
