SENIOR ROLL CALL COMES TO THE AID OF 76-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

(Wilmington, DE 19808) This morning, a 76-year-old woman from the community of Heritage Park failed to answer a routine phone call from Senior Roll Call. After receiving no answer, Senior Roll Call volunteers contacted the woman’s emergency contact, an off-duty law enforcement officer who responded to her residence. The victim was found in the residence after falling the night prior and was unable to contact help. New Castle County Emergency Services responded to assist, and the female was transported to Christiana Hospital where she remains in stable condition.

Senior Roll Call is a free program provided by New Castle County Police that calls the homes of its subscribers every day to ensure they are doing well and do not require emergency assistance. After several unsuccessful calls, help is sent to the home to check on the well-being of the subscriber.

Since its introduction in 1995, Senior Roll Call Lifeline has helped make countless “saves” for individuals who have suffered a debilitating injury or ailment leaving them unable to help themselves.

The program is available at no cost to all senior or disabled citizens residing in New Castle County.

For more information on volunteering or how to enroll in the program, contact New Castle County Police Senior Roll Call Lifeline at (302) 395-8159 or visit the nccpd.com website.
