Police Investigate Crash Involving a Toddler

(Newark, Del.-19702) The New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a one-year-old pedestrian.

On Thursday (10/12) at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of Canoe Club Road in Newark for the report of a motor vehicle crash.  Officers learned the 55-year-old operator of a 2004 silver Ford Ranger was traveling on Canoe Club Road when he struck the toddler.

The victim was airlifted to Alfred I. DuPont Children’s Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Investigators from the Division of Police, Traffic Services Unit responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. 

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
