(Newark, Del.-19702) The New Castle County Division of Police has issued a Gold Alert for Charles “Chuck” Arnold, a 71-year-old man from Newark.

Police learned Chuck left his home on Friday (11/10) at 8:00 a.m. armed with a handgun. Prior to leaving, he made statements that were of concern for his welfare and the public.

Chuck is described as a white male, 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 175 lbs.  He has hazel eyes, brown hair, gray beard and wears glasses.  Chuck was last seen wearing a blue button-down denim shirt with a pink/orange/yellow cow patch and gray sweatpants.

Chuck left his home in a silver 2015 Honda Fit with Delaware registration 372272.  There is a Grateful Dead Dancing Bear sticker on the rear and a “Thumper” sticker on the front driver’s side window. 

Chuck is believed to be armed with a handgun and family has stated his behavior has been erratic and unpredictable.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Charles “Chuck” Arnold to please contact the New Castle County Division of Police immediately by dialing 9-1-1.  Do not attempt to make contact with Chuck as he is believed to be armed.
