AMBER ALERT: VEHICLE STOLEN WITH CHILD INSIDE – ATTEMPT TO LOCATE

(Newark, DE) On 11/29/23 at 5:30 p.m. officers responded to the 7/11 located at 60 S. Gerald Drive in Newark, Delaware for a report of a stolen motor vehicle that just occurred where a one year old female was still inside the car. The vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Altima Gray w/ DE registration 562644, was described to have damage to the rear passenger door. The car was left running at which time a black male, dressed in a gray hoody, black jacket and camo pants jumped in the driver seat and drove away with the child in the back. The child was described as wearing a pink Nike jacket, purple and black pants, black boots, and hair in ponytails. The vehicle was last seen driving towards 273 towards 95. The suspect originally exited another vehicle, possibly a black Nissan rogue or Mazda 6 before stealing the victims vehicle. Both fled the area, the victims vehicle towards 273 towards 95. PACKAGE THIEF ARRESTED BY PATROL OFFICERS

(Wilmington, DE 19805) Patrol Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police have charged 58-year-old Michael McKamey of Newark following an investigation into package thefts. Last week, officers responded to the communities of Bellemoor and Maryland Park Apartments in reference to separate theft investigations. Officers were provided with surveillance footage from a doorbell camera and were quickly able to identify the suspect as Michael McKamey. On November 24, 2023, officers took McKamey into custody without incident. He was charged with with two misdemeanor counts of theft under $1,500 and two misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass in the third degree. He was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held in lieu of his charges and additional violations. As a reminder this holiday season, please use the following tips to protect your gifts and packages. A doorbell camera was crucial in this investigation leading to a swift apprehension.

WILMINGTON MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES

(Wilmington, DE 19803) Patrol Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 26-year-old Isaiah Melton of Wilmington following an investigation into a fatal overdose. During the month of October, officers from C-squad followed up on information related to a fatal overdose that occurred in North Wilmington. Following a lengthy investigation, officers identified the drug dealing suspect as 26-year-old Isaiah Melton of Wilmington. As a result of the investigation, Melton was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. On November 28, 2023, Melton was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was conducted on his residence and officers located over 49 grams of crack cocaine, 25 bags of heroin, a loaded handgun, and drug paraphernalia. Melton was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters.

Isaiah Melton was charged with one felony count of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, two felony counts of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, one felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia not related to personal use. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $156,000 cash bail.
