(Wilmington, DE 19804) On Monday, February 19, 2024, patrol officers with the New Castle County Division of Police were conducting patrol in the area of Banning Park. At approximately 4:08 pm., officers stopped a silver Toyota Corolla, which had exited Banning Park, and contacted the operator, 30-year-old Anthony Calvert.

During the investigation, officers observed a loaded magazine which led to a search of the vehicle. During a search of the car, officers located a 9mm handgun along with three loaded magazines. Officers became aware that Anthony also had active warrants for Newport Police Department.

Anthony Calvert was charged with one count of felony Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon A Firearm., and the following traffic offenses, Failure to have Proof of Insurance, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, and Failure when Moving Right, Left or Turning to Signal Continuously <300 feet or > ½ Mile before turning.

Anthony Calvert was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 held in lieu of $7700 cash bail.
