(Newark, DE 19702)- On Thursday, August 16, 2024, at 2:00 a.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to a call regarding a group of individuals attempting to open unlocked car doors in the 1000 block of Sandburg Place. As Officers arrived, they spotted several suspects sprinting away from the scene. Officers quickly gave chase and managed to apprehend two individuals: 18-year-old Ahmed Moustafa and a 15-year-old male who was in possession of a stolen handgun.
The 15-year-old male was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:
- One felony count of possession of a deadly weapon by a person under 18.
- One felony count of possession of ammunition by a person under 18.
- One felony count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon a firearm.
- One felony count of receiving a stolen firearm.
- One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
- One misdemeanor count of criminal trespass second-degree.
The 15-year-old was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on a $10,000.00 unsecured bail.
Ahmed Moustafa was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:
- One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
Ahmed Moustafa was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on a $1,000.00 unsecured bail.
