Officers Arrest Suspect Linked to Multiple Burglaries

(Newark, DE 19702) The New Castle County Division of Police has apprehended 49-year-old Trevor Livesay of Newark in connection with a series of burglaries targeting several Newark communities.

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 3:21 p.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress on Autumn Horseshoe in the Four Seasons community. While investigating this incident, officers were alerted to a second burglary at a residence on Winsome Way in Pencader Village, where a rifle and a yellow bicycle had been stolen. As they were gathering suspect information and continuing their investigation, a third burglary was reported at 5:15 p.m. on Cann Road.  Officers immediately responded to the area and located Trevor Livesay riding the stolen bicycle on Bar Drive in the Adams Run community. Livesay attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. While in custody, officers received information about another burglary on Madrigal Drive in the Melody Meadows community. Subsequent investigation revealed that Trevor Livesay was connected to burglaries in the Four Seasons, Pencader Village, and Melody Meadows neighborhoods.

Trevor Livesay was transported to the New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following:

  • Four felony counts of possession of burglar tools or instruments
  • Two felony counts attempted to commit burglary first degree
  • One felony count of theft of a firearm
  • One felony count of possession of firearm by a person prohibited
  • One felony count of theft under $1500 where the victim is 62 or older
  • One felony count of burglary second degree
  • One felony count attempted to commit burglary second degree
  • Four misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief under $1000
  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
  • One misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing third degree

Trevor Livesay was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $90,501.00 cash bail.

The Division of Police is asking residents living between the Four Seasons community on Route 896 and the Adams Run community along Old County Road, as well as those in neighboring communities along Route 896 and Route 40 corridor, to review any surveillance footage.
