We’ve seen a rise in scams, particularly ones claiming you’ve missed jury duty, like we posted the other day. Now we’re getting reports these scammers are impersonating law enforcement officers, including Sgt. Glenn Davis from the New Castle County Division of Police.
Here’s what you need to know:
Law enforcement will NEVER call you demanding payment or personal information.
Scammers often use threats of arrest or legal action to pressure you. Don’t fall for it!
NEVER provide payment via gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers.
If you receive one of these calls:
Hang up immediately.
Do not engage or provide any personal information.
Report the call to your local law enforcement agency or the FTC.
Stay alert and protect yourself and your loved ones. Share this message to help spread awareness! Keep updated with the latest information by following New Castle County Police on all social media platforms and visiting www.NCCPDNEWS.com
