COLD CASE HOMICIDE: IRA GRAGAM (2007)

Victim: Ira Graham, 50-year-old male

Date of Incident: December 31st, 2007

Location: Peachtree Road, Claymont, DE 19703

Investigation Details:

On December 31st, 2007, at around 7:45 p.m., New Castle County Police responded to Wilmington Hospital for a shooting victim brought in by a friend. The victim, Ira Graham of Pennsylvania, later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives learned that Ira Graham and a friend were sitting in a green 4-door BMW near the Stoneybrook Apartment Complex in Claymont when a black male wearing dark clothing approached and entered the vehicle. An argument ensued during which Ira Graham was shot. The suspect then fled on foot.

TRAFFIC ALERT-HOCKESSIN PAL, 7259 Lancaster Pike: DECEMBER 29, 2025

A candlelight vigil honoring Cpl/1 Snook will be held this evening at the Hockessin PAL Center, beginning at 7:00 PM.

Motorists should expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic before and after the vigil. Please use designated crosswalks, follow posted signage, and proceed with caution.

Parking will be limited. Parking is available at Hockessin United Methodist Church and St. Mary of the Assumption Church, and carpooling is encouraged when possible. Please be mindful of posted parking restrictions and avoid parking on private property.

Rideshare drop-offs should be made at the Hockessin United Methodist Church to assist with traffic flow.

Delays are expected. Those traveling through the area should plan accordingly, and carpooling is encouraged for those attending.

COLD CASE HOMICIDE: LONNIE DIXON (2016)

Victim: Lonnie M. Dixon, 53-year-old male

Date of Incident: December 27th, 2016

Location: Karlyn Drive, New Castle, DE 19720

Community: Garfield Park

Investigation Details:

On December 27th, 2016, at approximately 7:45 p.m., New Castle County Police responded to the unit block of Karlyn Drive in the Garfield Park area following reports of shots fired.

Officers found 53-year-old Lonnie M. Dixon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Lonnie was transported to an area hospital and later passed away.
