(Wilmington, De. 19805)  On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 2:35 p.m., New Castle County Division of Police officers responded to the 600 block of Robinson Lane in the Maryland Park Apartment community for a report of a suspect displaying and pointing a handgun in a parking lot.

Upon arrival, Officers confirmed that the suspect had displayed the handgun before leaving the area. Officers quickly obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was located a short time later on Maryland Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as 25-year-old Yadisha Rojas of Wilmington. During the investigation, Officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun from the vehicle.

Rojas was taken into custody without incident and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where she was charged with the following offenses:

• Three felony counts of Aggravated Menacing
• One felony count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• One felony count of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

Rojas was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to post $65,000 secured bail.
