What: The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will be running past New Castle County Police Headquarters for a “Memorial Mile”, dedicated to Lt. Joseph L. Szczerba. The run will continue to Wilmington Police Department. There will be a brief ceremony in front of New Castle County Police Headquarters just prior to the runners arrival.

Scheduled to Attend: New Castle  County Executive, Matt Meyer, New Castle County Police Chief, Colonel Vaughn Bond, Jr., and Kathy Szczerba.

The New Castle County Police are currently investigating multiple residential burglaries throughout the community of Dunleith.

(New Castle, Del. 19720) During the month of May, patrol officers responded to homes in the 100 block of Bunche Boulevard and the 400 block of Bethune Drive for burglary reports occurring during the daytime.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit were able to locate surveillance video of a suspect walking on Bunche Blvd. The Criminal Investigations Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying this individual.

New Castle County Police have arrested 32 year-old Emanual Carr for multiple thefts from motor vehicles in the community of Llangollen Estates.

(New Castle, Del. 19720) Friday (May 25) at 4:54 a.m., New Castle County patrol officers were dispatched to the community of Llangollen Estates in reference to the report of a male subject checking car door handles. When officers arrived on scene to conduct a search in the unit block of Hodgkins Place, they observed a black male running away from them. Police learned that (6) vehicles throughout the community were reported to be broken into.

Officers were able to locate surveillance video of the suspect and he was positively identified by police as Emanual Carr of the 500 block of South DuPont Highway. Patrol officers responded to his residence where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Emanual Carr was charged with (9) counts of misdemeanor attempted theft, (1) count of felony attempted theft and (6) counts of felony burglary. He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to pay $14,750.00 secured and $5,100.00 cash bonds. Carr was issued a not contact order.
