New Castle County Police are currently searching for 24 year-old Kevin Alvarez.

Yesterday (May 17) at approximately 8:30 p.m., New Castle County Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Cranbrook Dr for the report of a missing person.

Police learned that Kevin Alvarez had sent a text message to a family member that caused a concern for his welfare. He is currently homeless and may be staying in his vehicle.

Kevin Alvarez is described as an Hispanic male, black hair, 5’8″, 183 pounds with a full beard. He is operating a silver, 2014 Chevrolet Cruze bearing Delaware registration 109676.

New Castle County Police have arrested 34 year-old Camal Terry of the Lexington Green Apartment Complex.

(Newark, Del. 19702) Thursday (May 10) New Castle County Patrol officers were dispatched to the 5800 building on Byron Court in the Village of Canterbury Apartments for the report of multiple burglaries. The building on Byron court had been severely damaged by a fire that occurred on Tuesday (May 8). Officers discovered that 8 apartments had been broken into with force.

Detectives from the Property Squad and Evidence Detection Squad responded to the scene. Investigators quickly developed Camal Terry as a suspect. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Squad served a search warrant at Camal Terry’s residence where additional evidence was recovered further implicating him in the burglaries. Estimated value of the total property taken is approximately $89,489.00.

Camal Terry was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with 8 counts of second-degree burglary, 7 counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief, 6 counts of felony theft, 2 counts of misdemeanor theft, and theft of a firearm. Camal Terry was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to pay $89,700.00 secured bond and issued a no contact order with the Village of Canterbury Apartments.

New Castle County Police have arrested 39 year-old Thomas R. Johnson following an investigation into burglaries that occurred in the community of Robscott and Brookside.

(Newark, Del. 19713) Yesterday (May 10) New Castle County patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Kenmar Dr for a burglary in progress. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit responded to the scene and learned that a witness observed a white male enter the residence and then exit with property in his hands. The witness was able to capture the license plate number from the vehicle that the suspect was driving, a 1987 Silver Mercury Marquis. The vehicle, detectives learned, was registered to Thomas R. Johnosn.

Detectives then located the Silver Marquis in the unit block of Gill Dr. Detectives were granted a search warrant for the vehicle and Johnson’s residence. Investigators recovered evidence implicating Thomas R. Johnson in the burglary on Kenmar Dr as well as burglaries that occurred throughout the months of February and March in the unit blocks of Havertown Rd, Sanford Dr, Bobby Dr, and Gill Dr.

Thomas R. Johnson was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with 6 counts of felony burglary in the second degree, attempt to commit burglary in the second degree, 6 counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief, 5 counts of misdemeanor theft, felony theft where victim is 62 years of age or older and theft of a firearm. He was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $82,500.00 cash bail and issued a no contact order with the communities of Robscott and Brookside.
