SCAM ALERT

(New Castle, DE 19720) Over the last week, officers have handled multiple reports of phone scams. During these scams, the suspects identified themselves as members of law enforcement and demanded the victim pay bail money for a loved one.

Please be cautious if you get a call from an unknown number and someone claiming that they need you to send them bail money. Suspects will pretend to be family members who have been arrested. Don’t be afraid to call your family to double-check these claims. Never provide callers with any information over the phone and please report scams or attempted scams.
