CAR-STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST AND STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY

(Newark, 19702) The New Castle County Division of Police has arrested 26-year-old Frankie Lopez of Wilmington and 20-year-old Tatiyana Toler of Wilmington on multiple felony charges following a car stop.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Officers from the Mobile Enforcement Team were on proactive patrol around 1100 Pulaski Highway when the Officers observed an Acura SUV, which was wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police, regarding a vehicle pursuit parked in front of a business. Officers observed Frankie Lopez and Tatiyana Toler getting into the car when Officers immediately conducted a car stop and were taken into custody without incident.

Officers determined the license plate was fictitious and the car was stolen from Wilmington in March 2024. Officers then searched the car, which yielded 1.5 kilos (1,564 grams) of cocaine and 3.35 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Frankie Lopez was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • One felony count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance tier 3.
  • One felony count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.
  • One felony count of receiving stolen property over $1500.
  • One felony count of conspiracy second degree.
  • One misdemeanor count of hindering prosecution.
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • One civil violation of a fictitious or canceled registration card.
  • One civil citation for parking in a fire lane.

Frankie Lopez was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $65,500.00, cash bail.

Tatiyana Toler was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • One felony count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance tier 3.
  • One felony count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.
  • One felony count of receiving stolen property over $1500.
  • One felony count of conspiracy second degree.
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tatiyana Toler was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to pay $35,000.00, cash bail.

POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL ACCIDENT ON FAULKLAND ROAD – WILMINGTON

(Wilmington, DE 19808) On Monday, May 6, 2024, at approximately 4:04 p.m. Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Faulkland Road regarding a motor vehicle accident with pedestrians struck.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they learned that a maroon Hyundai Santa Fe operated by a 17-year-old male was traveling westbound on Faulkland Road approaching Centerville Road, when the Hyundai Santa Fe crossed the double yellow line into the opposite lane of travel and struck a 10-year-old male and a 12-year-old male that were on the sidewalk on the south side of Faulkland Road. After striking the two pedestrians the Hyundai Santa Fe continued traveling until it struck the home on the southwest corner of the Faulkland Road.

All the individuals that were involved in this incident were immediately provided with medical care by the Officers and Emergency Medical Services that had arrived at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver was transported to Christiana Hospital for his injuries and was treated and released.

The 12-year-old pedestrian was transported to Nemours Children’s Hospital for his injuries and treated and released.

The 10-year-old pedestrian was transported to Nemours Children’s Hospital and later pronounced deceased.

The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. (Wilmington, DE 19808) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently at Faulkland Road and Centerville Road regarding a motor vehicle accident and at this time both roads are CLOSED.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. The public can expect to see several road closures and an increased police presence. Please use alternate routes of travel and avoid the area.
