(Wilmington, DE 19808) Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Mill Creek Road.
As a result, Mill Creek Road is closed between McKennans Church Road and Stoney Batter Road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until further notice.
(Newark, DE 19702) On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the unit block of Oak View Drive in the Thornwood community for a reported attempted burglary.
During the investigation, Detectives determined that between approximately 12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., the suspect walked through several backyards, including those of residences in the unit blocks of Oak View Drive and Alanrose Court, and peered into the windows of multiple homes. During the incident, the suspect cut a window screen, broke a window, and attempted to enter the residences. The attempts were unsuccessful, and the suspect did not enter any of the homes.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the New Castle County Division of Police requested the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. As a result of information received, the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Brendin Viering of Bear, Delaware.
Later that day, Brendin Viering turned himself in at New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following offenses:
Two felony counts of Attempted Burglary Second Degree
Two misdemeanor counts of Attempted Theft Under $1,500
Two misdemeanor counts of Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
Viering was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $17,200 unsecured bail.
(Wilmington, DE 19801) – In April 2026, Detectives assigned to the New Castle County Police Department’s Violent Crime Interdiction Team and the FBI Violent Crimes Safe Streets Task Force initiated an investigation into 27-year-old Dale Womack after receiving information that he was allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics from a residence in the 200 block of West 4th Street in Wilmington
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, following a thorough investigation, Detectives took Womack into custody and subsequently executed a court-authorized search warrant at his residence.
During the execution of the search warrant, detectives recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, approximately 275 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 146 grams of marijuana, multiple bags containing suspected heroin and fentanyl, and various items commonly used in the packaging and distribution of illegal narcotics.
Womack was transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with:
Two felony counts of Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
Two felony counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver
One felony count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
One felony count of Possession with Intent to Deliver, Tier 3
One felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tier 3
One misdemeanor count of Possession of Marijuana
One misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
One misdemeanor count of Possession of a Controlled Substance
Womack was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $110,500 cash bail.
