DETECTIVES LOCATE AND ARREST SUSPECT IN RAPE CASE – SANTOS AGUILAR-AGUILAR

(Newark, DE.19711) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have charged 34-year-old Santos Aguilar-Aguilar with multiple counts of rape following an investigation that began in June 2024, when Officers responded to a Newark residence after a victim reported that Santos Aguilar-Aguilar, a known acquaintance, had sexually assaulted the Victim several years earlier.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and took over the investigation. Through a thorough and timely in-depth investigation, Detectives discovered that between 2017 and 2019, when the Victim was approximately 5 to 7 years old, Santos Aguilar-Aguilar repeatedly raped the Victim on multiple occasions.

In April 2025, following multiple interviews and the continued collection of evidence, arrest warrants were issued for Santos Aguilar-Aguilar. Detectives made immediate efforts to locate him but were unsuccessful, as it was believed he may have fled the country.

The Fugitive Apprehension and Surveillance Team was then assigned to the case. On Thursday, June 12, 2025, detectives located Santos Aguilar-Aguilar at a residence in the unit block of Raven Turn, in the Sparrow Run community, where he was taken into custody.

Santos Aguilar-Aguilar was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Three felony counts of Rape first degree
  • One felony count of Continuous sexual abuse of a child
  • One felony count of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust, first degree
  • One felony count of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust, second degree
  • One felony count of unlawful sexual contact with a person under 13 years of age
  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest

Santos Aguilar-Aguilar was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $4,000,000.00 cash bail.

TWO KILOS OF COCAINE FOUND AFTER STOP ON ROUTE 1

(Middletown, DE. 19709) On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Detectives from the New Castle County Police Drug and Human Trafficking Investigations Team arrested 44-year-old Alfonzo Johnson of Selbyville on multiple felony drug charges.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., while traveling along Route 1 near Pole Bridge Road, Detectives observed a Cadillac, driven by Alfonzo Johnson, commit several traffic violations. A traffic stop was initiated, and Johnson, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was contacted by the Detectives. During the traffic stop, Detectives developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search led to the discovery of two kilograms of cocaine concealed inside the car.

Alfonzo Johnson was arrested and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following offenses:

  • One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Tier 3
  • One felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 3
  • One violation of following a motor vehicle too closely
  • One violation of failure to signal continuously.

Alfonzo Johnson was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $120,000.00 cash bail.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN PUMP STATION THEFT CASE

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 44-year-old Gianmarco Skirvin of Elsmere in connection with multiple thefts reported in New Castle County.

Between May and June 2025, a public utility pump station located on Sears Boulevard in Wilmington reported multiple incidents of theft and vandalism. In this incident, a hole had been cut in the station’s fence, and sump pumps and radiators were stolen or damaged in apparent attempts to remove material from the property.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit were assigned to this case, and after an extensive investigation, they identified Gianmarco Skirvin as the suspect.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, officers responded to the 400 block of B & O Lane in Elsmere in an attempt to locate Skirvin. Due to safety concerns, members of the Crisis Management Group were called in to assist. Skirvin was later found hiding inside the building and taken into custody.

Gianmarco Skirvin was transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was formally charged with the following offenses:

  • Two felony counts of theft over $1,500
  • One felony count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
  • One felony count of criminal mischief over $5,000
  • Three misdemeanor counts of second-degree criminal trespass
  • One misdemeanor count of criminal mischief under $1,000
  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest
  • One misdemeanor count of being a fugitive from another state

In addition, Skirvin had active warrants from both the Delaware State Police and the Elsmere Police Department. He was also charged and arraigned on those outstanding warrants.

Gianmarco Skirvin was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $31,500 cash bail.
