The New Castle County Police are currently investigating a three car crash that occurred this afternoon on Lambson Lane in New Castle.
New Castle, Del.-19710 On Friday at approximately 4:10 p.m., New Castle County Police were called to the 100 block of Lambson Lane in reference to crash involving a pedestrian. Prior to the arrival, officers were informed of three (3) people with injures.
The preliminary investigation revealed the 88-year-old driver of a Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling westbound on Lambson Lane in the area of Hillview Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then struck the rear of a parked SUV which then collided with a brown Kia sedan parked in front of the SUV.
The owner and her passenger had just exited the sedan and were walking on the sidewalk when the white SUV struck them, knocking them down. The Grand Marquis then traveled into oncoming traffic and struck an antique car.
The pedestrians were transported to Saint Francis Hospital where they were treated and were expected to be released. The operator of the Grand Marquis was transported to Christiana Medical Center in stable condition.
Police closed Lambson Lane between Hillview and Simonds Drive. All vehicles except the antique car were towed from the scene.
