New Castle County Police are currently investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old man injured in the community of Mill Creek Village Apartments.

(Wilmington, Del. – 19804) Yesterday (June 26) at about 11:05 p.m., County Police were dispatched to the unit block of Scarborough Park Dr for a person shot.  Upon arrival, police located the 20-year-old male victim inside an apartment suffering apparent gunshot wounds.  The victim was provided first aid on scene and transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.

Police learned that as a separate occupant of the apartment attempted to leave, two suspects forced their way in. The victim confronted the two suspects which resulted in a physical altercation.  During the physical altercation, one of the suspects fired a handgun, striking the victim.  Both suspects fled after taking an undisclosed amount of money.

The two suspects are described as black males in their early 20s wearing all dark clothing, one of which was armed with a handgun.
