POLICE INVESTIGATE MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH IN TO A RESIDENCE

New Castle County Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash that damaged a residence.                                                                                                             

(Bear, Del. 19701) Today (May 13) at 6:34 a.m., New Castle County Police were dispatched to the unit block of Walker Drive in the community of The Springfields for the report of a motor vehicle crash.

When patrol officers arrived at the scene, they learned that a blue 2007 GMC Yukon, driven by a 44 year-old female, was traveling on Springfields Blvd.   The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, went down and up an embankment and into the rear yard of a residence on Walker Drive.  The vehicle struck a fence, some bushes and then collided with the corner of a second residence on Walker Dr .  The collision into the second residence caused the vehicle to come to a rest.

No one was home at the residence at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported.

Detectives from the New Castle County Police Traffic Services Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

New Castle County Code Enforcement came to the scene and declared the residence uninhabitable.

The investigation is ongoing.
