Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police, Criminal Investigation Unit have arrested 38-year-old Walter T. Lolley for the murder of Isabel Cooper and Thessalonias Berry.
(Wilmington, DE 19804) At approximately 2:00am on May 24th, 2018, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of the intersection of Kiamensi Rd @ Rothwell Dr. When the units arrived, they discovered two injured subjects inside of the vehicle. Both of the subjects had apparent gunshot wounds and were later pronounced deceased by New Castle County Paramedics.
Ultimately, Isabel Cooper, 34, and her boyfriend Thessalonias Berry, 34, were identified as the occupants of the vehicle. The victims had been expecting their first child together, as Isabel Cooper, at the time of her death, was seven months pregnant.
The investigation into the deaths of Isabel Cooper and Thessalonias Berry has uncovered that Walter T. Lolley was one of the last persons to have contact with both victims. As the investigation continued, additional evidence was uncovered that established Walter T. Lolley as the suspect.
On September 13th, 2018 Walter T. Lolley was apprehended by the US Marshals Service in Georgia. He was extradited to Delaware on December 11, 2018 and has been charged with: 2 counts of felony Murder 1st, 2 counts of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and 1 count of felony Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited.
“This was a heinous act that took the life of two defenseless adults; one being a female who was seven months pregnant.”, stated Colonel Vaughn M. Walter T. Lolley was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently being held at Howard Young Correctional Institution on $2,125,000 cash bail.
