POLICE ARREST NEWARK MAN DURING TRAFFIC STOP

(Newark, De 19702) Last Friday, (Mar 8) officers from the New Castle County Division of Police Mobile Enforcement Team were patrolling in the community of Four Seasons.  At approximately 11:45 a.m., team members observed a white Ford Fusion exit the neighborhood and commit a traffic violation.  The officers stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver, 24-year-old Matthew Patron to be in possession of 29 Alprazolam 2mg pills (Xanax) and $3,540.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Further investigation resulted in a search of Patron’s apartment.   This revealed 1 box of pistol cartridges, 1 black digital scale and a fraudulent, commercial check valued at over $1000.

Matthew Patron was charged with one count felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, one count of felony Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited, one count misdemeanor Possession of a Counterfeit Controlled Substance, one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and one traffic offense, Failure to Signal Turn.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $30,701 cash bail.
