(Claymont, DE 19703) Yesterday (August 25) at approximately 10:05 p.m. officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Balfour Ave, in the community of Knollwood, for a report of a shooting.  When the officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to an extremity.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
