(Wilmington, DE 19807) Yesterday (Oct 16), patrol officers from the New Castle County Divison of Police were dispatched to the area of 2700 Barley Mill Rd, Wilmington for a report of a motor vehicle accident.  When the units arrived, they observed a single vehicle off of the roadway into the wood line.

The 49-year-old operator of the vehicle (a Honda Pilot) was found to have sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.  He was immediately transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

Detectives from The New Castle County Divison of Police Traffic Services Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation.

The investigation into this crash is still ongoing.
