(Wilmington, DE 19809) Yesterday (Oct 16), patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of South Cannon Drive in the community of Edgemoor for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the units arrived, they discovered a 17-year-old male who had been shot in a lower extremity.  He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation,
