(Wilmington, DE 19809) Yesterday (Oct 17), patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Bedford Drive in the community of Edgemoor for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the units arrived, they discovered an 18-year-old female who had been shot in a lower torso.  She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
