(New Castle, DE 19720) Earlier this evening (Dec 31) at approximately 6:49 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Willings Way, in the community of Ashton Condominiums for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the units arrived, they discovered one male subject in a parked car.  The male was apparently suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was then transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the New Castle County Police Criminal Investigations Unit have arrived at the scene and have assumed the investigation.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
