(Claymont, DE 19703) (May 16) at 8:10 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of 4th Ave, in the community of Overlook Colony for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.
When the officers arrived, they located a 54-year-old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
Yesterday (May 20), the investigation, supported by cooperation from the community, lead the detectives to apprehend 21-year-old Quishyne Jackson and arrest him for this shooting.
Jackson was transported to NCCPD Headquarters and charged with one count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of felony Possession of a Firearm By a Person Prohibited, one count of felony Assault 2nd, and two counts of felony Reckless Endangering.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $90,000 cash bail.
