(Claymont, DE 19703) Earlier this evening (May 16) at 8:10 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of 4th Ave, in the community of Overlook Colony for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the officers arrived, they discovered one victim had suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  The victim was a 54-year-old male who sustained a gun shot wound to his upper torso.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
