Wilmington, DE 19808 – On Thursday, September 24, 2026, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were notified of allegations that a 13-year-old female had been sexually assaulted in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Old Capitol Trail.

Due to the circumstances of the incident, detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

Detectives learned that in July 2026, 25-year-old Ahmir Miller of Wilmington began communicating with the juvenile through a social media messaging platform. After an ongoing exchange of messages, Miller allegedly drove to the victim’s home to meet her and then drove her to the Old Capitol Trail location, where the alleged sexual assault occurred in his vehicle. Miller also allegedly threatened the victim with bodily harm if she told anyone about the incident.

On September 24, 2026, at approximately 10:55 p.m., detectives located Miller following a motor vehicle stop and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with:

• One felony count of Rape, Third Degree
• One felony count of Unlawful Sexual Contact, Second Degree
• One misdemeanor count of Terroristic Threatening

Miller was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $55,000 cash bail.
