18-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR GLASGOW TRAILER COURT ARMED ROBBERY

(Newark, DE 19702) On Wednesday, January 13th, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Glasgow Trailer Court for a report of a robbery.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they were able to contact the 18-year-old male victim.  The officers learned that the victim had left a store in the Salem Center, walked behind the Food Lion and into the community of Glasgow Trailer Court.   When the victim reached Albert street, he was approached by a black male who displayed a handgun and took the victim’s wallet and cell phone.  The victim stated that the suspect was wearing a mask and he did not recognize him.

The patrol officers captured surveillance footage from the area and were able to obtain a video of the suspect. Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigation Unit assumed the investigation and were able to identify the suspect as 18-year-old Rashawn George.

On January 22nd, a search warrant was authored and executed at George’s residence and evidence linking him to the robbery was recovered.  He was not at the residence at this time.

Yesterday, George came into New Castle County Police Headquarters where he was charged with one count felony Robbery 1st, once count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and one count of felony Aggravated Menacing.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $126,000 cash only bail.
