(Bear, De 19701) Last Monday (Mar 22), at approximately 4:00 pm patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the grassy area of 469 County Road for the report of a stabbing.
When the officers arrived, they found 38-year-old, Lisa Fletcher suffering from multiple stab wounds. Life-saving efforts were provided, however she succumbed to her wounds. A short time later, the officers were able locate her husband, 37-year-old David Fletcher and take him into custody. Due to his self-inflicted injuries, he was transported to a local area hospital.
Detectives from the New Castle County Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
Yesterday (Mar 25), the detectives were able to charge David Fletcher one count of felony Murder 1st and one count of felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of Felony. He was arraigned in a local hospital by New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held in lieu of $3,000,000 cash only bail.
