POLICE INVESTIGATE CRASH INTO BUILDING

(New Castle, DE 19720) Yesterday (Mar 30) at approximately 2:15 a.m. officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the address of 260 Christiana Road, in the Georgetown Village apartments for the report of a vehicle crashing into Apartment Building “D”.  While enroute, the officers learned from dispatch that witnesses were reporting that the vehicle had driven away and parked in another parking lot in the complex. When the officers arrived, they located a 2009 Honda Accord with heavy front-end damage.  The officers were then able to locate the operator of the vehicle, 37-year-old Kevin Hill, who was in his apartment.  Hill was examined at the scene and released by Christiana Fire Company and was then taken into custody by the officers.

The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit then arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

The building that was struck was evaluated by New Castle County Code Enforcement and the building was not condemned or deemed unsafe.

Hill was transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged with Careless Driving and felony Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 3rd Offense. 

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting $3000 secured bail.
