(New Castle, DE 19720) On May 24, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m. patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the Beyond Petroleum (BP) gas station at 201 S. Heald St in the City of Wilmington in reference to a 24-year-old, male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
When the officers arrived, they learned that the victim had met a female acquaintance at the corner of South Street and Hamilton Street in the community of Hamilton Park. When he arrived, an argument ensued with the female and she exited the victim’s vehicle. The female walked to the driver’s side of the vehicle. When the victim exited the vehicle, he was approached by a black male who shot the victim in the leg with a handgun. The shooter then took the victim’s wallet and left with the white female.
On July 2nd, 2021 the female was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile and was subsequently arrested. She was charged with one count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Robbery 1st degree, 2 counts of felony Assault 2nd degree, and one count of felony Conspiracy 1st degree. She was arraigned by the New Castle County Family Court and released on $275,000 unsecured bail.
The male suspect was then identified as 19-year-old, Quadir Dillard. Last night, (Dec 2), detectives and deputies assigned to the US Marshal’s Task Force located Dillard on Carlisle Road in the community of Brookside. He attempted to flee out the rear of a residence but was met by several task force members and taken into custody.
He was transported to police headquarters and charged with one count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Robbery 1st degree, 1 count of felony Assault 2nd degree, one count of felony Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and one count of felony Conspiracy 1st degree. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $142,000 cash-only bail.
