(New Castle, DE 19720) Earlier today (Feb 11) at approximately 1:30 p.m. officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Sophia’s Place West for the report of a subject that had been shot. 

When officers arrived at the unit block of Highland Blvd, they located a 16-year-old male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper and lower extremities.  The victim was assisted by a good Samaritan who rendered aid until police and emergency medical services arrived.   The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived and assumed the investigation.

The investigation is still in its early stages and very active.
