POLICE ARREST 3 IN CONNECTION WITH MULTIPLE SHOOTINGS IN THE COMMUNITY OF CALVARESE FARMS

(Bear, DE 19701) From October through December 2021, residents of the community of Calvarese Farms reported multiple shots fired in the nearby fields and wooded areas. On October 31st, a home in Calvarese Drive was struck by gunfire.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit developed 18-year-old Ife-Olu Odeyemi as a suspect through investigative methods. Detectives were able to further the investigation through search warrants on Ife-Olu’s property and developed two additional co-conspirators: 19-year-old Charles Bedwell & 18-year-old Donald Chapman

On May 5th, 2022, arrest warrants were signed and executed for all three subjects, although Ife-Olu Odeyemi and Charles Bedwell are incarcerated for separate investigations. Donald Chapman was taken into custody without incident.

Ife-Olu Odeyemi was charged with three counts of felony Reckless Endangering in the 1st degree, two counts of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Conspiracy in the 2nd degree, one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief and one count of misdemeanor Criminal Trespass in the 2nd degree.

Charles Bedwell was charged with three counts of felony Reckless Endangering in the 1st degree, two counts of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Conspiracy in the 2nd degree, one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief and one count of misdemeanor Criminal Trespass in the 2nd degree.

Donald Chapman was charged with three counts of felony Reckless Endangering in the 1st degree, two counts of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Conspiracy in the 2nd degree, one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief and one count of misdemeanor Criminal Trespass in the 2nd degree.

Ife-Olu Odeyemis was already in custody at Howard Young Correctional Institute for a separate incident.

Charles Bedwell is held at George Hill Correctional Facility in Delaware County for a separate incident.

Donald Chapman was arraigned this afternoon and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institute in place of $28,000 secured bail.
