(New Castle, De 19720) Earlier today (Aug 10) at 10:44 a.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Moore’s Lane in the community of Colonial Village Apartments for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they learned that two people had been shot, one 28-year-old male had been shot in the leg and one 23-year-old man had been shot in the hand.  Both were transported by ambulance to a local area hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

The detectives’ investigation so far has revealed that this incident was an accidental shooting.
