(Wilmington, DE 19803)
On Saturday, October 1, 2022, an 84-year-old female from the Brandywine Hundred community, failed to answer her phone call from Senior Roll Call. Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the address and found the victim had suffered a fall and needed assistance. The victim was assisted from the floor and treated on scene by first responders.
Senior Roll Call Lifeline is a free service provided by New Castle County Police that calls the homes of its members every day to ensure they are doing well and do not require emergency assistance. If calls are unsuccessful after several attempts, help is sent to the home to check on the well-being of the member.
Since its introduction in 1995, Senior Roll Call Lifeline has helped make countless “saves” for individuals who have suffered a debilitating injury or ailment leaving them unable to help themselves.
The program is available at no cost to all senior or disabled citizens residing in New Castle County.
For more information on volunteering or how to enroll in the program, contact New Castle County Police Senior Roll Call Lifeline at (302) 395-8159 or visit the nccpd.com website.
