CRASH INVESTIGATION LEADS TO FELONY DUI ARREST – WILMINGTON

(Wilmington, DE 19804) The New Castle County Division of Police has charged Mark Rohrer (55) of Newark with driving under the influence of alcohol, his third offense.

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 10:11 PM officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 1000 block of Kiamensi Road in reference to an unknown motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located a Chevrolet Tahoe in a ditch off Kiamensi Road.

Officers contacted the driver who was identified as Mark Rohrer of Newark at which time officers observed multiple empty liquor bottles. Officers also smelled alcohol at which time a DUI investigation ensued. Rohrer was subsequently taken into custody at the scene. Through investigation officers also determined that Rohrer violated an active PFA order prior to the accident occurring. An inquiry for Rohrer listed two prior DUI convictions in Delaware.

Mark Rohrer (55) was charged with one felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol (3rd offense), one misdemeanor count of malicious mischief by a motor vehicle, one misdemeanor count of criminal contempt of a domestic violence protective order, and numerous traffic violations.

Rohrer was processed at NCCPD headquarters and arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2. Bail was set at $3,800.00 cash and Rohrer was committed to the Howard R Young Correctional Institution.
