COLD CASE SQUAD VIDEO RELEASE: KELVIN POWERS HOMICIDE (2015)

(New Castle, DE 19720) Detectives from the New Castle Division of Police Cold Case Squad are releasing surveillance footage from a 2015 homicide to help generate additional leads.

On February 11, 2015, at 6:55 PM officers were dispatched to Amstel Drive – William Penn Village Apartments in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim Kelvin Powers inside the apartment, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Investigation revealed that the victim’s girlfriend was exiting the apartment with her young son when she was confronted by two masked and armed suspects. The suspects entered the victim’s apartment and shot the victim multiple times.  Surveillance footage from the complex identified a unique Honda Civic fleeing the complex after two masked men quickly fled from the victim’s apartment.

A standing, cash reward is offered in exchange for information deemed to benefit the investigation or lead to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for committing this crime. Any information could potentially be used to bring criminals to justice and provide peace for families who have lost their loved ones.
