(New Castle, DE 19720) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested four individuals in reference to two separate distraction-style burglaries that occurred in New Castle County.
The first incident occurred on Friday, November 11, 2022, in the Sedgley Farms Community – Wilmington. At 3:37 PM officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Wayland Road in reference to a trespassing incident. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 75-year-old male victim. The victim reported that an unknown suspect knocked on his front door. The victim stated that the suspect posed as a utility worker and requested to enter the home. The victim allowed the suspect to enter his home at which time he was followed by two additional suspects. After a short time, the victim became suspicious and asked the suspects for identification. The victim reported that the suspects then fled the residence in a hurry and left the neighborhood in a white BMW SUV.
The second incident occurred on Saturday, November 12, 2022, in the Sherwood Park Community – Wilmington. At 2:50 PM officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Milltown Road in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 103-year-old female victim. The victim reported an unknown male suspect entered her residence without knocking and posed as a utility worker. The victim explained the suspect had her escort him to the basement and told her to remain downstairs. During that time, the suspect moved throughout the residence and stole approximately $3,400.00 in assorted jewelry from the victim. Multiple interviews were conducted at the scene with witnesses and the suspect vehicle was described as a white BMW SUV with a Florida tag.
On Monday, November 14, 2022, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were able to locate and stop the white BMW. During the vehicle stop, officers took four suspects into custody without incident. The suspects were identified as:
Angelo Bimbo (27) unknown residency
Nicholas Williams (23) of Ephraim, New Jersey
Mandy Frank (23) of Ephraim, New Jersey
Lisa John (27) unknown residency
The white BMW was towed to NCCPD headquarters, and a search warrant was executed on the vehicle. While conducting a search of the vehicle detectives located suspected stolen property including jewelry and various radios/masks/disguises. Efforts are currently being made to link stolen property to victims. More information to follow.
All four suspects were charged with:
1 felony count of burglary in the first degree
1 felony count of theft $1,500 or greater and the victim is 62 years or older
1 misdemeanor count of attempted theft under $1,500 and the victim is 62 years or older
1 felony count of conspiracy in the second degree
Angelo Bimbo was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and issued $27,000 cash bail. Bimbo was committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution.
Nicholas Williams was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and issued $27,700 cash bail. Williams was committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution.
Mandy Frank was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and issued $27,000 secured bail. Frank was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution.
Lisa John was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and issued $28,200 secured bail. John was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution.
