(Wilmington, Del.-19803) The New Castle County Division of Police have arrested Orion Brabham, 54, of New Castle in reference to an occupied burglary.
On Thursday (12/22), at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Prospect Avenue (Concord Manor) for the report of a burglary. Officers learned a Black male suspect had unlawfully entered the home occupied by a 14-year-old resident home from school during the holiday break.
The teen reported he heard the security alarm and then shortly after heard banging on the side door. Within minutes, he heard the same door slam open. As he exited his bedroom, he observed the suspect inside the home on the stairs landing. The teen reported the suspect then fled from the residence.
Surveillance footage captured depicted the suspect fleeing the scene in a light colored four-door sedan.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit assumed the investigation and developed information which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of Brabham earlier today.
Orion Brabham was charged with burglary in the first degree, attempt to commit theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief. He was arraigned at JP Court 11 and remanded to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $21,100 cash bail.
