(New Castle, DE 19720) The New Castle County Division of Police has arrested a 17-year-old juvenile from Wilmington for charges connected with 36 different reported incidents. During the dates of October 24, 2022 and December 8, 2022 Officers were dispatched to numerous thefts and motor vehicle thefts in the communities of Jarrell Farms, Autumnwood, Vincent Lane Townhouses, Lambeth Riding, Huntington, Sherwood Park, and Brennan Estates.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police assumed the investigation into the crime trend. Through investigative measures a suspect was identified as a 17-year-old male from Wilmington. Following a lengthy investigation, the suspect was charged with;
31 felony counts of burglary in the third degree.
36 felony counts of conspiracy in the second degree.
3 felony counts of theft of a motor vehicle.
2 felony counts of receiving stolen property.
1 felony count of unlawful use of a payment card.
19 misdemeanor counts of theft.
26 misdemeanor counts of attempted theft.
1 misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.
The suspect was later apprehended in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 9, 2023. The suspect was extradited to Delaware on February 22, 2023. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held at the New Castle County Detention Center on $184,000.00 secured bail.
