(New Castle, DE 19720) On Friday, February 17, 2023, at approximately 9:44 p.m. officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Moores Lane in reference to a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they learned that a silver Honda Civic operated by a 21-year-old female was traveling in the northbound lane at which time it crossed the yellow line and veered into the southbound lane directly into the path of a red Chevrolet Equinox which was being operated by a 52-year-old female.

The driver of the Honda Civic along with a 21-year-old female passenger and a 20-year-old male passenger were transported to a local hospital in reference to medical treatment.

The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox along with a 29-year-old female passenger were also transported by ambulance to a local hospital in reference to medical treatment. The 29-year-old female passenger of the Equinox was later pronounced deceased at Christiana Hospital Emergency Room.

The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. (Wilmington, DE 19809) The New Castle County Division of Police has arrested 24-year-old Dhakayla Heath following a domestic incident in the community of Edgemoor Gardens. On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 4:01 p.m. officers were dispatched to the unit block of Cannon Drive in reference to a domestic with a weapon. Prior to officers arriving it was reported that the suspect fled from the area in a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim who reported that on February 16, 2023, Dhakayla Heath responded to her residence at which time there was an argument. During the incident, Dhakayla produced a handgun and fired multiple gunshots into the air. Dhakayla then pointed the handgun at the victim prior to fleeing.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Following additional investigative steps, Dhakayla was charged with one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one felony count of aggravated menacing, and one misdemeanor count of discharging a firearm within a safety zone. Dhakayla was later taken into custody by assisting officers and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters.

Dhakayla was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held at the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to post $27,000.00 cash bail.

(Wilmington, DE 19810) The New Castle County Division of Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the attached photographs. The subject captured in the surveillance images is suspected to be responsible for acts of theft and identity theft. It was reported by the victim that an unknown suspect opened a credit card in his name and made various fraudulent purchases.
