(Bear, DE 19701) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating separate incidents in Brennan Estates Townhouses – Bear. On three different occasions, Officers were dispatched to the community regarding unknown subjects kicking residential doors. During one incident on July 12, 2023, a door to an occupied home was kicked in causing damage. Surveillance video collected from the neighborhood captured segments of the incident. In the video, unknown subjects are observed kicking doors. The subjects then immediately flee from the area on foot and on bicycles. Officers are conducting follow-up investigations into these incidents and are releasing attached surveillance images to seek the public’s assistance. The Division is aware of a new TikTok challenge where subjects punch or kick someone’s door and then run away while documenting the incident on social media platforms. It is important to remember that participating in these challenges is dangerous and will result in criminal charges.
